About Us
On the 50 exists to elevate, educate, and empower dancers within the HBCU community and beyond. We bridge the gap between high school, collegiate, and professional dance by providing intentional training, mentorship, and access to world-class instruction. Our programs challenge misconceptions about HBCU-style dancers, affirming their technical ability, artistry, and value in the broader dance industry. Through education, scholarship advocacy, and career development, we prepare dancers and coaches alike to produce work that stands out—on the field, on stage, and in every professional space they enter.

The HBCU Danceline Combine, our flagship program, is a national training and networking experience designed to connect high school dancers with collegiate dance programs, pre-professional, and pro-level dance organizations. Through workshops led by industry choreographers and current and former HBCU dancers and coaches, the Combine provides education, mentorship, and exposure that prepare students for next-level performance. Our goal is to equip dancers with the knowledge, confidence, and access they need to successfully transition into the collegiate dance community and beyond.
Born from the heartbeat of HBCU culture and rooted in the legacy of HBCU dance, On the 50 creates spaces where young BIPOC artists can develop their craft, connect with collegiate programs, and expand their vision of what’s possible—beyond the stands, beyond the sidelines, and far beyond the 50-yard line.
